Prom Planner.

Hey guys !
So as I am in my final year of High school, I have Prom coming up in a few months. Many people look foward to Prom but really have no idea where to start. Showing you what I have got and where to purchase things will hopefully be a little help.
After weeks and weeks of scanning the internet for everything Prom, mum told me someone had reccomended Finsbury Park to her for dress shopping. So the Monday of half-term we took 3 trains down there. Let me just say that I am completely in LOVE with Finsbury park and this is definetly THE place to go dress shopping for any occasion as there is a whole row of dress shops, probably around 11 next door to each other.
After going to 9 different dress shops I started to feel really irritated that I hadn't found anything that I looked good in. There were plenty of dresses there that people would love but I knew what I wanted and wouldn't be happy till I found it. The second to last dress shop I went to had some amazing dresses and I fell in love with this Long purple one that just screamed 'take me home'.... but they didn't have it in my size. So I tried to fit into the size below. DON'T DO THAT! I garuntee you it looked amazing on but I could hardly breathe, and no one wants to faint at Prom right ?! As much as I fell head over heels in love over that dress I had to come to terms with the fact that whilst I wanted it, I knew that I wouldn't just lose weight to fit into a dress thats for one night as I am happy with the way I look. The dress is not the most important thing about the night, it's that you have tons of fun with the people that you may not be with for much longer. After reluctantly saying my goodbyes to the dress I headed down to the final shop.
Looking at all the dresses my mother pulled a dress out of one of the racks and asked me to try it on, it wasn't what I originally wanted as it was a slightly brighter colour than I usually wear and are comfortable with wearing but I didn't have much to lose. I remember as soon as I tried it on I had a huge grin plastered on my face. I loved it. I figured that when you go shopping with someone else they know what looks good on you from a different persons perspective than what you might think (or hope) you look like. My mum loved it to and with that I walked out of the shop with 1 prom dress.
I know its so early to get a dress but it's better to get a dress early that you know you love than have to get something not so great last minute when all the shops have gone Prom crazy. So for me that was step one. Ever since I have tried to find heels to wear as well but am not having a lot of luck.
Let me know if there is any where I should try for the rest of my Prom outfit.

Go out and change the world.
Love Charlotte x

  1. It was my prom last year and I had the exact same problem with the dress! I don't know how expensive your dress was but if it is long I wouldn't say get a hugely expensive pair of shoes. My shoes were just a really high black wedge that were from primark...my dress was super long so I didn't bother buying expensive ones :) Check out my blog please! hope you find some nice shoes!
