MUA Matte lipsticks.

Hey guys!

Recently I have been going Lipstick crazy and buying way too many. Naturally I had to go to the MUA stand as their products are so pigmented and the lipsticks only cost £1! When I first heard about this my natural reaction is that they would not be very good because they were so cheap and from my experience only the higher end of drugstore makeup is worth buying. Hands in the air I admit how wrong I was and infact I am now very addicted to the MUA website, always trying to find new products to test.

When I heard about the matte lipsticks I was very intrigued as to how they would look on my lips, as I had heard wonderful things about other matte products. However this was extremely different for MUAs products and unfortunately I was slightly dissapointed.

I bought 3 at once as they were so cheap, in the colours: Peachy Keen, Scarlett siren & Wild berry. The thing I like about these products is that after using them a few times they don't become as hard to apply so I usually just swatch them on my hands a couple of times so they don't drag my lips when I apply them.

The first I did not like at all which dissapointed me greatly as i was looking for a subtle colour, however it just made my lips look and feel dry, the colour was also way too light for my lips as they are actually quite rosy. The next colour I have finished the tube of which is Scarlett siren. Again the same thing happened, the colour was good but was extremely drying on the lips which I did not like at all. Lastly I bought Wild Berry which I hoped was going to be extremely pigmented and give me a lusturous deep purple colour... Short of it is that it didn't, the colour was actually quite sheer compared to the other two and this one I have not used since.

HOWEVER!

When MUAs spring14 range came out they also bought out two new matte lipsticks in Fawn Fancy and Lilac belle, whilst I am yet to try Lilac belle I am on my third tube of Fawn Fancy and even that is nearly finished. This colour is the perfect nude for my face and lips, a very toffee colour but still complimentary. I also can get away with wearing it in school as we have are not technically allowed to wear makeup however this lipstick is in no way glossy so it does not attract attention. The lipstick itself is alot creamier and I find goes on a lot nicer as long as I have applied lipbalm before hand. I will continue to purchase this as long as they sell them!

Hopefully I will have the chance to pick up Lilac Belle next week as it would be fun to incorporate different colours and I have never tried such an 'out there' liptick!

You can find the link to the website and Matte lipsticks here.

Leave a comment in the bar below telling me if you have tried them and if not what other products you reccomend.

Go out and change the world.
Love Charlotte x
