Recently due to the weather I have been wearing my hair up an awful lot, but I get very bored with just a bun or ponytail as I don't think either flatters my face at all. This being said I messed around with some different braids and found a relatively easy one that looks very cute and will flatter most facial shapes. This tutorial works best on hair past your shoulders (medium to long).
For this look you will need:
. Two elastic bands, closest to your hair colour as possible.
. A couple of bobby pins (Kirby grips).
. A little bit of patience.
Step One: Seperate your hair into two, if you have a fringe pull this away from the hair you will be braiding at the back. Start braiding from the top making sure it is relatively tight, you can do a normal plait or maybe a fishtail one.
Step Two: Once braided secure with an elastic band and repeat on the other side, now you should have two plaits and your fringe loose. Start to pull at the braids making them bigger and fuller, you can do this until you are happy with the results.
Step Three: Pull your braid round the top of your head, take a few bobby pins and secure in place. Tuck behind the ear with a final bobby pin, and then repeat with the other plait.
Step Four: Now you have your milkmaid braid, take your fringe and experiment, you could just leave it down or if it is slightly longer like mine, try curling it. It's an awesome way to frame your face.
This is the finished look.
Excuse the slightly elated face, Derryn & I were on our way to Alton Towers :)
Let me know how you guys get on with this look in the downbar, and comment any new hairstyles you would like a tutorial on.. I shall try my best.
Go out and change the world.
Love Charlotte xo
