Hey guys!
This blog post is a long time coming.. I visited Brighton just over a week ago & as it was only two weeks till Prom I was slightly freaking out as I had not purchased my shoes. After going into many many shops and trying on too many pairs of shoes I was losing all hope in ever finding a pair.. I have always found it SO challenging to buy my shoes, and usually buy a ton of cheap Primark ones just so I can wear them and not worry about them breaking.
This all changed however, when I got to Brighton; after going into so many shops in the past, I jokingly asked my parents if I could check in Karen Millen to look for shoes, knowing fully well there was no way I would be getting a £125 pair of shoes for Prom, which I knew I would not wear again unless there was a wedding or on my birthday. Whenever you find yourself in a slightly more expensive shop, always search for the sales because you know they are going to be decent.. and by this I dont mean 5% off, because those are the types of sales that irritate everybody.
Looking through the shoes there were none that sparked my interest straight away. I knew what I wanted and boy was I stubborn about it. If they weren't peep toe I was not interested in the slightest. Which is why when I spotted a pair of peep toe black heels in the back I picked them up as if someone was about to snatch them out of my grasp.. THANK YOU LORD they had a pair in my size! I always manage to find them to only just fit or be slightly too loose, however these fit like an absolute dream. After just looking at my parents, they agreed that they would buy them for me, like I said, there was no way my parents were forking out £125 for a pair of heels, and I was right; as these were in the sale for £50! Total bargin in my eyes, I literally nearly cried as the cashier handed over the bag to me (I think she thought I was on drugs or something..).
The one piece of advice I would give from this experience is that if the shoes don't fit, even a little bit, don't buy them. I remember this lesson I had learned with my dress (which I explained in my last Prom planner.) and managed to stick to it this time. No-one wants to be tripping over at an event!
You can see the shoes I bought here.
I'm thinking of doing an after-prom thoughts and advice blog post, so if that is something you want to read, please leave a comment below!
Go out and change the world <3
