Hello loves!
Recently I have been trying to up my skincare game. It's all good packing on the makeup during the day but at night when it comes off I want to still be satisfied with what I see in the mirror. I've waited a while before posting this as I wanted to show you products that I 100% believe in.
Let me start off by saying that all skin is different. My skin type is 'combination' which means that my skin has both dry patches and oily patches (The oily patches tending to be the t-zone). This means the majority of my products are oil free & anti blemish. My skin like most teenagers is far from perfect. I do not suffer with Acne however I have very red cheeks that I find difficult to conceal under makeup (which I always feel very self concious about). I to get my fair share of blemishes although my friends always tell me how lucky I am that I don't get spots (trust me the makeup is decieving) its more of a self confidence thing that I try to look after my skin when I don't have makeup on.
For ages now I have been wanting to have a good skincare routine that I know I can share with other people because I believe in the products I use. This being said these are products that work for me but may not for you if you have a different skin type. I reccomend you talk to a skincare consultor about this (The Bodyshop & LUSH are fantastic for this) so you can get the products that will work best with your skin. Remember before buying to do your research as I always find a couple of others opinions on the internet will work better than the person instore trying to sell you the product.
The first product I use is always a cleanser to get off my makeup and all the grime and dirt from the day (sounds disgusting right? Trust me you don't want it on your face) The cleanser I use is NIVEA gentle cleansing lotion (for all skin types). I have used a LOT of different types of cleanser in my life and found that this one is so very gentle on my face & around the eyes. All you have to do is take a bit of this into your hands and rub it in circles onto your face (you can include your eye makeup in this aswell or use a different product altogtether for eyes) you then wash it off with some hot water and a wash cloth.
Once I have patted my face dry I then use a face mask. I switch it up depending on how my skin feels that day. If my skin is full of blemishes I tend to go for LUSH 'mask of magnaminty' as it is cooling and refreshing on the skin & gets rid of any blemishes almost immediately. I tend to use this product every now & again as a treat for my skin so I picked up the 'self preserving' one as this lasts longer. If my pores are blocked I tend to use Soap&Glory 'scrub your nose in it' as this draws out any impurities in my pores & makes my skin feel that bit cleaner. On days where my skin feels 'thirsty' or just looks a little dull I would use my BOOTS 'Simply sensitive deep cleansing face mask' This mask is the best quick pick me up that my skin needs to feel brighter almost imediately.
I then go on to use my LUSH 'Tea Tree Toner'. I spray this over my face and then with a cotton pad wipe over it gently. Tea tree is very helpful to your skin & helps tackle spots. I find this toner is also very refreshing because its in a spray bottle (Just make sure to close your eyes before spraying). Next I use my FAVE spot treatment which I recieved in a glossybox a while back. The name says 'Zap Zap Zap' but apart from that I cannot remember for the life of me which brand this product is. It has very distinctive packaging so that may be a clue for some of you. I use this every day and night to help get rid of the tough spots.
Moisturiser is so important to me since parts of my face can be quite dry. Since others can be quite oily I use an oil-free moisturiser as to not make the oily parts any worse. This moisturiser from Pure & Clear has anti-blemish treatment in & also acts as a balancing treatment meaning it is perfect for 'Combination skin'. I then go on to use the Benefit 'Its potent!' eye cream. This is my most expensive product in full size however I recieved it as a mini for Christmas and it has served me well. I am still using this 4 months later! It is a very rich product so you never need a lot of this. Finally I use the Rescue lip balm which is perfect for lips that get chapped all year round (like mine) this sorts them out over night & I always wake up to soft lips the next day. Such a dream.
If you have any questions about your skin please leave them in the comment box below and I will try my best to help you :)
Go out and change the world.
Love Char xo
